I think one needs an innate aesthetic appreciation of dogs to find them cute. I guess I find dogs awkward, gangly or clumsy.
But I'm sure Zuul is the Audrey Hepburn of dogs.
Dogs also typically require a lot of attention. I don't dig on that. I prefer the aloofness of cats: a simple nod of acknowledgement now and then suffices. :)
